St. William of York hosted its very first S.T.E.M Fair on Friday, January 20th. The S.T.E.M Fair was planned to ensure that the students and families are exposed to science, technology, engineering, and math activities that promote school readiness and enhance critical thinking skills. The outcomes of the program showed that our students would benefit from participating in more rigorous and intentional activities in the S.T.E.M. areas. Some activities at the fair included the building of volcanoes, creation of lava lamps, prediction racecar ramps, and several other S.T.E.M. centered activities. After participating in the S.T.E.M. fair, more parents were able to identify the benefits of S.T.E.M. Consequently, the parents indicated that they will incorporate similar activities at home to further foster S.T.E.M. implementation.
